PRESENTATIONS & WORKSHOPS​

Grades K-4

​

The presentation of A Gull’s Story is suitable for grades K through 4. Time: 40 minutes to an hour, depending on the grade level. Mr. Finale will tell what inspired the book and how it came about. He will show rough copies of the work and explain the importance of prewriting and revising. He will tell about the artist and other people involved in creating the book. During a slide presentation of A Gull’s Story, Mr. Finale will help the students to realize what a special place the Jersey Shore is. A fun learning activity related to the book and the Shore will follow along with a brief question and answer period. Audience can be from 15 students up to 250 students. Fee: Usually $300.00 per presentation. Fee will vary depending on audience and type of presentation

Grades 5-6

Frank also does poetry workshops for 5th and 6th grades. He has done numerous young authors’ conferences throughout the area and received an award from the Ocean County Council of the International Reading Association for his work in the promotion of literacy.

Adults, High Schools and Colleges

​

Frank does presentations for adults as well. In these, he tells how and why his four Shore books were created and reads selections from each. He has read at Georgian Court College (Lakewood, NJ), Art Barn (Washington, DC), The Court Tavern (New Brunswick, NJ), Trenton State Prison, College of New Jersey, Barron Arts Center (Woodbridge, NJ) several First Nights (Toms River, NJ), Cafe Improv (Princeton Arts Council) and numerous libraries, bookstores and clubs.
